New Christ-groups formed in Mexico

In San Juan Grandes -a place with economic and spiritual problems- the church Bethel Puerta del Cielo, seeing how violence affects even the children, decided to make a difference. The project we decided to do was to start a new group, but this time, teaching those youngest in our community.

We made an invitation and started to work with fifteen children who, amongst the difficult circumstances, still do not know the love of God. We worked with the materials given by the ministry of Mexico EHC, and used the special tracts for children like “God loves me”.

When we received the materials, we started to work with this small group. Each week we gather with joy, with these children that are eager to learn, sharing the stories of hope and love from the Bible. In this class, we met Ana, an eight-year-old girl whose parents are divorced; she wants them to be together again since she is deeply missing her father. With words of faith, we reminded her that God listens to the hearts of the children, and that she can trust Him. We motivated Ana to speak with God and put her trust in Him to work for her family.

Ana has become an active person in this group, always participating and paying attention. At the end of each session, we gather to pray, asking God to give Ana the wish she cherishes in her heart, for her parents to reconciliate, and for her family to feel God’s love. Ana has accepted God in her heart and says that she trusts that God will do the miracle for her parents to get together again.

Although we know that our mission may seem small against the challenges we face, we firmly believe that God is working his blessings in this neighborhood of San Juan Grandes; trusting that soon, more people will join our church, as a transformed community by God’s love, we will overcome every obstacle that we may face.
