Samuel and Carol attend 'One Africa' Conference
Samuel and Carol Adams visited Ethiopia from the 21st October until the 25th October. On the first day we had a series of meetings with those whom we work with in Ethiopia. Our first meeting was with Bros. Mulugeta and Daba, who are leaders in the Brethren denomination. They told us that they have 316 churches with some churches having a membership of up to 2,000 people. Each year they are commencing 20 new churches. They have used Bible Educational booklets in the past which we sent to them but at the moment we have a container of BES booklets in customs waiting for release, which they are very excited to receive. Please pray that Customs will release this container very soon.
We then met Mesfin who is the regional Director for Mailbox Club in East Africa - he is responsible for Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda. Earlier in the year he took delivery of 150,000 Explorers Vol 1 and 150,000 Explorers Vol 2 in the Amharic language. He explained to us that the population of Ethiopia is 120 million with 49% of the people aged 18 years old and under. This year they are reaching 700,000 children with the Gospel and their aim is to reach 1 Million children next year. They are working with many local churches, schools that are operated by churches and in orphanages. They have now requested 400,000 booklets in Amharic for next year.
In the evening we met with Zerihun who is the leader of CEF in Ethiopia. He told us that CEF in Ethiopia commenced in 2005 with one full time worker and one Good News Club. The work has grown rapidly - now they have 82 full time workers and 5,000 Good News Clubs. We have been supplying them with thousands of Flashcard Bible Lessons in the Amharic and Oromifa languages. They are now also requesting literature in the Tigray language spoken in the north of the country -only 0.2% of the Tigray people know the Lord as their Saviour - most of these people belong to the Ethiopian Orthodox church. At the moment they have only 9 Good News Clubs in Tigray state.
We heard a story of a 12 year girl in Tigray state who had been given “Go and Tell” literature - she was afraid to tell others the Gospel - some children stole her bag with the literature - later they came back to the girl and asked her to explain what the “Go and Tell” literature was about - she then explained the Gospel message to these other girls - the result was that 6 of them trusted the Lord to be their Saviour. Zerihun requested another very large supply of literature for the work of CEF in Ethiopia.
The conference that we were attending was conducted by Every Home for Christ. They had brought all of their national leaders from across Africa - almost every African nation was represented. We had very good conversations with many of the leaders - eight of them were very excited as we have shipments en route to them. Many others were ordering supplies of Gospel tracts, Gospels of John, Children’s Lessons and New Testaments in a whole mixture of languages for their countries. Others shared with us details about their ministry, testimonies and photos. The following are some of the details concerning Nigeria.
Greetings in Jesus’ name, I am writing to express our heartfelt gratitude for the life-changing impact of the Gospel tracts we have previously received from Revival Movement Association 3 years ago. These tracts have been instrumental in helping us fulfill the Great Commission through the OIKOS initiative under Every Home for Christ Nigeria. We aim to reach every home with the message of hope and salvation in Jesus Christ. Through your Gospel tracts, we have witnessed tremendous breakthroughs in various communities, including remote villages, farming settlements, and even in fanatical regions. These tracts have empowered us to engage with individuals, families, and communities in a way that transcends language and cultural barriers, effectively planting seeds of faith and transformation.
The simplicity and clarity of your tracts have resonated deeply with the hearts of many, particularly in areas where literacy is limited and verbal communication can be challenging. As a result, we have seen people from diverse backgrounds—whether Muslim, traditional, or non-religious—embrace the Gospel, respond to the message, and begin their journey with Christ. However, the need remains immense. As we continue to expand our efforts across many states we face an increasing demand for materials that can sustain our outreach and discipleship efforts. We humbly request additional Gospel tracts to support our upcoming outreaches, including orphanages which present a unique opportunity to reach young hearts for Christ. We are confident that with your partnership, we can continue to spread the love of Christ to even the most challenging regions, ensuring that every home and heart is reached with the Good News. Below is the order of requisition... Total 6.6 Million tracts and booklets. From Bro. M.
On behalf of my family and the entire Every Home Nigeria Team, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your unwavering support of our ministry. Your generous provision of colorful materials and discipleship resources, such as the Gospel according to John, Battle for the Young, and Escape the Trap, has been instrumental in reclaiming, training, and integrating numerous individuals into the fellowship of Christ. One remarkable example is the transformation of a woman who had been involved in a life of harlotry for over three decades. Upon receiving the tracts “Choose the Ruler of Your Heart” and “There is Hope for Me Because He Lives,” she confessed that she had never encountered a Gospel message that so deeply resonated with her soul. As a result, she has become a dedicated disciple within our community. This is just one of many inspiring stories of lives changed through our ministry. We are truly grateful for your continued partnership in spreading the gospel and making a positive impact on our community. Thanks. Bro. P.
AN ISLAMIC CLERGY SURRENDERED TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
During our Easter special outreach at a park in Kebbi State, I had the opportunity to meet Mallam Abdulahi Wuse. (Not real name) Mallam Wuse was a respected Islamic cleric and member of a royal family. He showed interest in our message, and we shared with him a Gospel tract entitled “Zabi Mai Mulki Zuchi yarka” (Hausa title of ‘Choose the Ruler of your Heart’ literature).
Unfortunately, he misplaced his phone shortly after our conversation. He kept reading the literature for more understanding and later contacted us. We prayed that whoever found his phone would return it within 24 hours. Fortunately, by the evening of the same day, Mallam Wasago called again, overjoyed that his phone had been returned. Intrigued by this seemingly miraculous turn of events, he became curious about the source of this power. This presented a golden opportunity to share more about Jesus Christ. To my surprise, he expressed his belief in Christ and committed his life to Him. The impact went even further - he led his entire family to faith. Currently, they are holding fellowship in their home. We are maintaining contact with the family and recently sent a Hausa Bible discreetly to him.
