75th Anniversary - Nigeria Depot Established
Africa Christian Textbooks (ACTS) are sending their heartfelt congratulations to Revival Movement Association for your 75th Anniversary.
We cannot fully express our gratitude to God for all that he has enabled you to do over the years in this remarkable “Mission to Millions” around the world. For myself, Sid Garland (formerly serving with Mission Africa), and my colleagues Luka Vandi (ACTS Nigeria) and Sakwa Kefa (ACTS Kenya), it has been an immense privilege to see the smiles on so many faces when sound Gospel literature arrives in Africa. We assure you that by your sterling efforts many believers have been encouraged, churches have been equipped and the lost have been reached.
Since ACTS (Nigeria) first started connecting to Revival Movement Association in the 1990s, we have enjoyed a wonderful teamwork in the cause of Christ. The two partners dove-tail in a wonderful way. The focus of RMA has been on providing resources for evangelism while the emphasis of ACTS has been on the provision of sound theological books (through our 20 bookshops in Nigeria, one in Kenya and one in Cameroon).
With the encouragement of former SUM missionary, Pixie Moles (nee Caldwell), ACTS started to receive and distribute RMA evangelistic literature in Nigeria, with its fast-growing population of over 200 million. The literature is mostly needed in English but we have also joined hands with RMA to provide literature in widely-spoken Nigerian languages such as Hausa and Fulfulde (Fulani). The Gospel of John has always been in demand by the churches and their missionaries and evangelists all across Nigeria.
The development of a joint depot in Lagos has proved strategic. The visits of Samuel Adams, David Watson and Gary Johnston were important. ACTS Nigeria were facing the high cost of renting, rising every year, and so it was a great relief to see how (in 2015) the Lord provided for ACTS and RMA to jointly purchase a depot that still has room for further expansion. This joint RMA-ACTS depot was managed with great enthusiasm and faithfulness by the late Pastor Okima. She was able to mobilise and connect with evangelists in Lagos and across Nigeria. On her passing in 2022, brother Chris Angbashim and his team have continued this vital work.
Many in Nigeria are grateful for the work of RMA in providing low-cost editions of classic Christian titles. ACTS have also appreciated the printing of vitally-needed hymnbooks and other books for the strengthening of the millions of Hausa-speaking Christians in the poorest and most persecuted regions in the north of Nigeria.
We are very grateful to all the directors, staff and supporters of RMA for their very warm, generous and prayerful partnership in the Gospel. May God continue to strengthen and provide for RMA for the years ahead. May the Lord bless you so that you will continue to be a blessing to all nations. Amen! - Sid Garland.
