75th Anniversary - The work moves to Redcar Street

During 1978 the ministry continued to grow and it became obvious that the 285 Newtownards Road building was getting too small. Ernie knew of a small church that had recently closed, so he went to the Pastor and offered to purchase the church. The Pastor was delighted to sell the building which had been the old school in Redcar Street - one half of the building was made up of large rooms and the other half of the building was a hall with seating and a pulpit. Some immediate repairs were completed and we had an opening service the weekend after Easter in 52 Redcar Street which many of our supporters and friends attended.

It quickly became obvious that if we were to print items such as leaflets and booklets we would need to have a folding machine – so this was purchased, and involved learning a whole new process. Then a second Multilith printing press was purchased. Clive Allen joined the ministry in 1980. He had already trained as a printer.
